Megan B. Layaw SBD, NASM-CPT
I am a wife to my incredible husband whom I have had the honor of being with for 18 years. I am a mother to my seven beautiful children- six here on Earth and one who waits for us in Heaven. I love homeschooling my babies, going on "adventures," as my children call our spur-of-the-moment road trips, fitness, gardening, beekeeping, knitting, sewing, and reading. I am a devout Christian, deeply involved in my church community at Passion Community Church, and I happily serve families of all philosophical beliefs.
Initially I went to college for Early Childhood Education and Special Education with a concentration in American Sign Language, but I have always been a "birth junky." After the loss of our son Asher Joel in January 2015 I went back to school and became a Birth Doula with a dual certification in Bereavement Doula services through Stillbirthday.
I believe that every woman deserves a doula, not just those who have the privilege.
I believe that every woman, no matter how she gives birth, can benefit greatly from a birth doula.
I believe that every woman has the power within her to give birth exactly how her baby needs to be born.
I believe that every woman should be in control of her birth with truly informed consent from her care providers no matter where and how she gives birth.
I believe that every birth IS a birth, no matter the trimester, the place, the method, or the outcome.
